Tax Credits
A film producer gets a tax credit as an incentive to make a movie, television program, or commercial in a particular state. Most state credits in the U.S. equal 20-30% of the total amount spent in that state. In addition, many foreign countries offer tax rebates of 35-45%. Once tax-certified, financing partners can provide pre-funding which provides certainty prior to film release.
